Theology has many real-world applications, while decision-making and relationships stand out as its most realistic and powerful connections. Theology affects our decision processes by basing our choices on the authentic understanding of God’s character and directives. Knowing God’s holiness, justice, and grace helps us act Christ-like when we confront ethical dilemmas in our finances, work, or family life.
Theological principles determine our interpersonal behaviors and treatment of others. The Imago Dei doctrine teaches us that all humans carry God’s image which necessitates our respect and valuation of everyone irrespective of their social status or racial background. Understanding this truth enables us to handle conflicts differently while building stronger communities and improving our service to others.
Theology provides practical guidance for our daily living and relationships instead of existing only as abstract theory for academic study.
