Theology realistically connects with real life in at least two powerful ways: decision-makingand identity formation.
First, theology shapes how we make decisions by anchoring us in God’s character and will. When we understand doctrines like God’s sovereignty or human sinfulness, we begin to filter our choices—financial, relational, and ethical—through a biblical lens rather than cultural pressure or emotion. For example, believing in the sanctity of life will impact how we view topics like justice, care for the vulnerable, or even how we vote.
Second, theology helps form our identity. In a world full of shifting opinions and self-made identities, theology grounds us in the truth that we are created in God’s image and redeemed through Christ. Knowing we are loved, chosen, and called by God changes how we see ourselves and others, and it equips us to live with confidence and compassion.
In short, theology isn’t just theory—it’s fuel for how we live!
