Discussion Board Initial Post – Damon Foy
A personal experience of a leadership challenge I encountered in a ministry setting and discussed how I applied leadership principles would be when I went to a small church that wanted to start a kids’ ministry and eventually a youth ministry. At first, some board members were unsure if they wanted to invest in the ministry because kids and youth were loud. So, I, as a pastor, started to be saved into God’s kingdom, and more families began to come to the church. Once that started happening, the board, initially hesitant, became the kids’ and youth’s biggest fans, willing to do anything for them. One of the main reasons for their change of heart was the transformation they witnessed in the services that kids and youth were leading, including inviting others to see the church. One of the other challenges was to find a place where kids could meet, but it worked out, and we found a place.
