For me, technology has helped me in my faith journey because it has made so much available via the internet and other media forms. There are so many resources that are now available when studying scriptures or even questioning your own beliefs that can help in your faith journey that never before have been available. Just to think about how you can carry your scriptures and access them at any time on your phone is mind-blowing. Technology has allowed me to further my education when it comes to topics like ministry and theology, to name a few. For me, technology has given me more opportunities to grow my faith and feed myself with more knowledge and understanding of the scriptures. It has also given me the chance to connect with other believers and nurture new relationships. I think one of the greatest things technology has contributed to me has been the ability to worship online and be part of a community from a distance. I know that when I was in situations where the physical church was not accessible to me, church online filled that void I needed. I have also been part of an online community for the local church and have learned that faith online is more than just posting a scripture or some words of encouragement. I am not saying this doesn’t help, but rather the beginning of providing church outreach to start a deeper conversation that can bring or help return those who may be experiencing troubled waters or questioning their own faith. It also starts a conversation that helps one explore a deeper relationship with our Savior. I believe that technology can be one starting point that can make a difference in our own lives, as well as those that seek a deeper meaning of existence.
